On Saturday, June 24th the award ceremony of the annual contest "Selezione del Sindaco" organized by Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino ("Wine Cities National Association") was held in Montefalco, Perugia, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and with the collaboration of the International Organization of Vine and Wine.

Twelve International Commissions have judged about 1.200 wine samples, using an assessment method inspired by the great wine competitions in Bordeaux and at the end of the four-day review about 350 medals have been assigned.

Emilia-Romagna was able to confirm on this occasion the trend of growth in the quality of its products - it ranked fifth on the Italian national scene - and we are very proud to say that our territory, Romagna, has contributed crucially to this success, earning 7 of the 14 medals assigned to the region.

It is with even greater pride that we announce that two of these awards have been conquered by our wines, both of which belong to Romagna Albana D.O.C.G. denomination of origin but each one characterized by a unique personality:

- Romagna Albana D.O.C.G. Secco 2014 "Sintria" by Tenuta del Principe / 87 points (Golden Medal)

- Romagna Albana D.O.C.G. Secco 2016 "Diaterna" by Santerno Wines / 86,6 points (Silver Medal)
