Chianti Classico
Chianti Classico DOCG
Grape Variety
100% Sangiovese
Terroir
The vineyards are situated between 200 and 250 metres above sea level, with a south-west-facing aspect that ensures optimal sunlight and promotes balanced ripening of the grapes. The soils, of marine origin, are rich in limestone and clay, characteristics that ensure good water retention and help to impart elegance, structure and minerality to the wines. The vines are trained using the Vertical Shoot Positioning (VSP) system, which allows for optimal management of the canopy and enhances the quality of the grapes.

Wine Making
Harvested in the second half of September, vinification involves three daily pump-overs at a controlled temperature of 28 °C and three weeks’ maceration. After racking and subsequent malolactic fermentation, the wine is left on the lees for 4–6 months. Bottling takes place 16 to 18 months after the harvest.
